Pardon Mussa, Kunje – Nankhumwa
Leader of Opposition In Parliament, Kondwani Nankhumwa has reached out to President Lazarus Chakwera to pardon 19-year-old, Mussa John, who was convicted for possessing Indian hemp (Chamba), and former Malawi Electoral Commission commissioner, Linda Kunje, convicted for obstructing a presidential convoy in 2020.
Nankhumwa believes, John’s matter did not warrant a conviction, but a fine.
On Kunje, Nankhumwa says, “I wish to politely appeal to Your Excellency, Sir, as a man of God, who understands the value of humanity at a level beyond the ordinary, to consider letting her go”.
State House is yet to give President Chakwera’s position on the matter.
