Sports Associations asked to keep data
Malawi Council of Sports has asked various sports associations in the country to properly keep data for possible reference in future.
Speaking during Malawi Sport Awards in Mangochi yesterday, Head of Marketing at the council Limbani Matola advised the associations that data is crucial in following up some developments in a particular sport association.
“It is therefore important that various sports association to properly keep data of different developments in their respective associations,” said Matola.
He described this year’s awards organized by the council as a success as evidenced by many ponsors in the awards.
He said the presence of many sponsors has enabled the winners to get a respectable monetary prize of K1 million unlike in the previous awards where winners could get K500,000.
France based women footballer Tabitha Chawinga was the biggest winner as she won two awards of Best Woman Footballer and Sports Personality of the Year respectively.
