Andiamo Secondary School Current Affairs Club visits Montfort Media

Students from Andiamo Secondary School on Wednesday, 6 March 2024 toured Montfort Media in Balaka to appreciate what the company is doing in the printing and publication sector in the country. The students, who belong to the school’s Current Affairs Club, were particularly interested in the work of journalists in the Communications Department at Montfort Media. The Communications Department is responsible for production of three publications – The Lamp magazine; Together youth magazine; and Mkwaso Chichewa newspaper. They also publish online news on Facebook and Montfort Media’s website. The students were briefed on how news gathering, news values and the process through which magazines and newspapers are printed. The students interacted with staff from communications, Desktop Publishing, the Printing Press, Photo-Lytho and Bindery departments.
