Eastern Region Football Association (ERFA) has commended teams in the 13-member Durata Premier Division League for the continued discipline as the league enters week nine this weekend.

ERFA general secretary Francis Onions Phiri has said generally, the league is progressing well as there is sanity on the ground with no reported case of indiscipline among the teams.

“Of course in football hiccups are always there but for us, so far so good as generally we haven’t really had any serious issues. There is very good sanity on the ground and I commend the teams for this,” said Phiri.

However, he said there are some things which some teams are taking them for granted and this include not bringing the players registration cards during the matches. He expressed surprise that some of the teams which are culprits to this trend have seasoned football administrators.

He said the development forces the league officials to repeatedly be taking pictures for the players during games and comparing the information later on, a development he said gives unnecessary work to their officials. But he promised to deal with the mishap as the league progresses.

The general secretary also noted that most teams are struggling to score goals and admitted that coaches have a big task ahead of them.

So far Changalume Barracks who are leading the table with 15 points from seven games also happen to be the highest net busters as they have scored 18 goals seconded by MMF Marine with 14 goals, the Marine soldiers are also second on the table with 14  points from six games. Toleza Farm FC who are seventh on table with eight points from six games have scored 11 times.

The least scorers are Zomba Airbase with three goals from six games and are second from bottom where Becks Academy is placed with three points from six games.
