MISA Malawi launches new award for journalists

Harrington: Uplift adult education

The Media Institute for Southern Africa (Misa) Malawi has launched a new award called Adult Literacy award. The award will be administered in partnership with partnership with DVV of Germany and Civil Society Education Coalition ( CSEC.

Launching the award in Lilongwe DVV Regional Director for Africa, David Harrington said the Media is Key to promoting adult education in the country.

“Much as there is emphasis in promoting child education, adult education also needs to be uplifted,” said Harrington.

The award will be given to journalists who will produce works that have demonstrated committment to improve adult education. It will be presented during the Annual gathering of Misa Malawi members to be held in May this year. – www.montfortmediamw.org
