Vanessa Sisters dominate Under-23 netball squad

Lilongwe-based promising netball side Vanessa Sisters has dominated the Netball Association of Malawi (NAM) Under-23 squad that has started camp today in Blantyre in preparation for the Telkom Netball League in Durban, South Africa from April 24 to May 2 this year.
According to the squad list that NAM has released, seven players from the youthful side have made it into the squad, with notably centre Mphatso Banda who was FDH Bank Premier Netball League Most Valuable Player leading the list.

The other players that have made the grade include defenders Caroline Saini and Esnala Manda; centres Lukia Thonje and Veronica Anderson and shooters Sheila Nkhoma and Getrude Makanganya.
Writing on their Facebook page, the team said the call-up of the seven players is a testament of the talent and effort that the players invest in the game.
“This is a proud moment for the club and a testament to the talent and hard work of these young athletes. Wishing them all the best as they represent Malawi on the international stage,” the team wrote.

The other team which has contributed more players to the Joana Kachilika line-up is Tigresses which has five players followed by FDH Bank Premier League champions Blue Eagles Sisters which has three.
