Maggie Chombo returns as U-20 Women’s Football Coach

Legendary women’s football player Maggie Chombo Sadik has earned yet-another Football Association of Malawi (FAM) trust after the body re-appointed her as head coach for the Under 20 National Women’s Football Team.
Chombo Sadik also headed the team’s technical panel during the 2021 World Cup qualifiers where she failed to sail through with the team.
It remains to be seen whether this time, the former Scorcher’s captain will bring in the magic wand for the team to qualify for the finals of the 2026 World Cup.

In the 2026 campaign, her first assignment is Central African Republic whom she faces on May 11 at Bingu National Stadium before the return leg on May 18.
Meanwhile, Chombo Sadik who is also a CAF coach instructor has selected a 31-member squad scheduled for camp at Chiwembe Technical Centre on April 28.
She will be assisted by John Chimwala as first assistant coach and Schollastica Khunga as second assistant coach respectively. Chombo Sadik also worked with Khunga during the 2021 World Cup campaign.
